Beta +
12.2.11

Beta Plus is my absolute favorite publisher. Their books are filled with stunningly european contemporary and warm interiors with the most interesting details. I have many of their books on my wish list!

We can bundle up in a chunky sweater and walk down to the ocean here

We can bask in the sun rays here. P.S. these windows are to die for!

Then, take a nice soak here.

And finally curl up and watch a fab movie with hot chocolate and little bitty marshmallows here

Pretty, pretty
11.30.11

This room feels so calm. Such a pretty color palate. Obsessing over the globe lamp by Max Bill. A Carlo Hauner chair, and a T. H. Robsjohn-Gibbings tripod lamp also highlight the room.

I love these mirrors! Apparently made of horse mangers! What is that? And what a gorgeous bronze metal tub…perfect for a soak.

My perfect mix of materials with the bleached hardwood. Happy, happy.  The raised stairway is very unusual…kind of gives it a surreal feel.

Perfect hang out place. Love the sunken in aspect, the floating shelves and the blue sofas!

Winter wonderland
11.22.11

Is it time to go skiing yet? Come, and let’s stay here!

Pierre Jeanneret, Jacques Adnet, and Prouvé vintage chairs.

My man, Serge Mouille! Pierre Jeanneret chairs.

The most perfect powder room? Love love love these sconces by Mouille and a set of Charlotte Perriand CP1 wall lights.

This sandstone bathroom is calming and warm. These towels by Scandia Down look luscious! Stool is vintage Perriand.

Wire brushed oak cabinetry…love. Light woods can be warm!

A cozy place
11.7.11

I am hanging out right now in my hotel in Milan while it is pouring rain! I can totally imagine myself in this apartment weathering the rain and reading a fabulous book…can you?

Interesting mix or art and a few vintage pieces. The idea of these floor to ceiling built-in’s is so great for storage, but also creates an interested rhythm on the wall.

A perfect place for a cup of tea or to write a letter.

Cosy knits and what an awesome orange jack door stop!

Small space but full of style.

Now this is where my feet will be kicked up reading a great book with the fire on, of course.

A treat
11.4.11

In true Thad Hayes style, elegant yet full of comfort.

Beautiful entry. Love these thin long pavers.

These chairs look so comfortable!

Ethereal sheers and monochromatic color palate paired with light and medium woods. Apparently, Thad Hayes got his color inspiration from sycamore bark…love it.

Mahogany deck.

Poppa bear chair by Hans J. Wegner. Cedar paneling.

Look up and all around
10.28.11

I am on a plane today starting a long trip, first stop being London and then many more stops to update you with later. So, I leave you with a beautiful project by a fav of mine, Shelton, Mindel & Associates, project 3502.

Poul Henningsen Chandeliers and Jean Prouve barstools in the background.

This coffered ceiling…oh my! Swoon! And what beautiful wainscoting.

Piet Hein barstools. Love these! Love the simplicity of this simple ceiling mounted fixture. Oh, and the paneled wood cabinetry! Sexy and classic!

Floor to ceiling walnut wood walls mirrored by white boiserie walls…um yes, please!

Arne Jacobsen Pot Chairs.

Yrjö Kukkapuro lounge chairs…totally futuristic and really pop in the office.

Stunning and rare Pierre Chapo Stools and dining table.

A happy place
9.27.11

I love this interior shot by Richard Powers.

I die for the floating walnut stair treads. I also love this cozy sectional with these cool eclectic pillows. And that fireplace is pretty amazing too. Warm and colorful but neat and tidy too.

Yarra House

This caught my eye. The Yarra house by Leeton Pointon Architects.

Arflex strips sofa….comfy!

More TsAO
8.23.11

I have been so inspired by TsAO McKOWN’s work today that I cannot resist sharing a few more images. Enjoy!

This white lacquer kitchen looks minimal and simply blends into the wall…LOVE!

I have a thing for thin contemporary boxed window cushions! They add a continuity to the large space and a softness.

Classic yet modern.
