In a Beach State of Mind
8.10.11

Today, friends, I will be traveling to Florida for a my Florida Keys project install. It is a partial install but cannot wait to share some pics. For now, I leave you for the day with some beach house inspiration.

Color palate reminiscent of a hazy day at the beach. I spy a christian liaigre chaise + sofa here…my hero.

pale wood + white = yipee!

well edited vignette with some handmade objects and a bit of green whimsy.

Wood screen-like headboard with sconces above the nightstands…concept love.

Rose Tarlow + Richard Meier
8.9.11

Impeccable collaboration. I am drawn to the subdued monochromatic colors, the pale bleached woods which create a continuous space and the perfect balance of collectible pieces.

I love this idea of the low bookshelf fluidly connecting the two living area’s and dining room.

Pierre Jeanneret caned and ebonized-teak chairs, Franz West pendant. Flawless design.

White lacquer cabinets with oak topped bar. Bulthaup kitchen. This vintage chair is making my heart go pitter patter.

Gjelina Take Away, Venice
8.8.11

My recent obsession has been Gjelina Take Away, the recently opened appendage to the ever venice hipster location, Gjelina. They make the best cortado and kale salad, my recent daily diet. I especially heart what Marshall Agriam has done with the space.

I am really loving the balanced mixture of elements; elegant calacatta marble with rustic wood, metal and white subway tiles with black grout. Masculine + industrial + sophisticated.

No drywall, just raw stud walls. Totally perfect.

I especially am intrigued by the combination of the suspended pans with the shiny sexy marble. This ledge floating out from the studs is just briiiilliant.

White Brick
8.4.11

Exposed brick can be industrial, authentic and lofty, yet sometimes a bath in white can make it ethereal, expanse and pristine.

Do you like the authenticity of the exposed brick or the brick dressed in white?

Linear

Digging the linear aspect of this kitchen/dining with the floating shelves and floating plank. Gorgeous minimal palate of woods and creamy whites. Chairs designed by Ricardo Fasanello. Design by Arthur Casas.

For the Yacht

John Pawson designed the interiors of filmmaker Angela Ismailos’ yacht.  Simple yet elegant custom macassar-ebony headboard. Linens by Monogrammed Linen Shop. I spot a Serge Mouille sconce!

Hans J. Wegner chairs.

I do not know about you, but I do not feel like I am on a yacht here!

I admire the simplicity of this room. The Bertoia diamond chair adds a sculptural dynamic and the art creates a powerful contrast to the neutral color palate. Massachusetts home designed by Thad Hayes.
